Medical Administrative Specialist Duties: The candidate provides deployment support in developing, planning, and conducting training and evaluations needed to assess squadron/unit readiness, mobility, and deployment requirements. Responsible for execution of the budget utilizing automated business service system (ABSS), which includes reprogramming, prioritization and allocation of resources. Manages the squadron/ unit Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) resource. Analyzes problems and develops written and/or oral recommendations which consider factors and requirements associated with the eligibility/assessment of medical standards.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: The candidate must have 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or equivalent in the Federal service that has given particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties of the position. Experience which provides a thorough knowledge of Medical administrative duties to include case management, health care benefits, a general knowledge of clerical procedures, medical terminology, and medical regulations in support of various medical organizations and functions.
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. degree, in a related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of medical operations and management principles, policies and procedures and a comprehensive knowledge of medical plans, programs and requirements. Knowledge of medical service mission, organization, programs, and functions to include carry out medical training and administrative programs to ensure medical mission can be effectively accomplished. Knowledge of a wide range of technical/professional medical administrative concepts, theories, procedures and techniques, as well as specialized knowledge of wartime medical operations and missions. Knowledge of medical planning and programming concepts and a thorough knowledge of squadron's medical mission, equipment specifications (Allowance Standards) and operational parameters. Knowledge of of medical administrative programs throughout in order to conduct studies, analyze findings and make recommendations on substantive program changes.
