Title Paralegal & Claims Officer
Responsibilities: Responsible for providing assistance with the resolution of curative matters and less complex title insurance claims. Supports the legal team in departmental and inter-departmental initiatives such as audit responses, regulatory filings and research projects. Provides customer service to insureds and affiliated team members. Administer claims and curative matters. Investigate and analyze claims to determine whether the company has a liability for the losses and expenses. Communicate with insureds, third parties, and underwriters regarding claims. Provide assistance with the correction of errors either with correction of title related transaction document errors. Review of trusts, powers of attorney, and business entities for insurability under the direction of National Underwriting Counsel. Support Legal Department initiatives, department of insurance audits and other research responsibilities.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Prefer college degree from a 4-year college or university or equivalent. 3+ years' paralegal/legal. Broad knowledge of title insurance, claims and commercial law areas (i.e. litigation, construction, insurance, contracts, real estate). Strong research skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. High level of initiative. Demonstrate excellent communication and writing skills.
