IP Transfer Specialist
Responsibilities: Audit new patent files for current status, upcoming due dates and next action due; and assist docket team with inputting file data into the IP Transfer Database and Foley docket system. Prepare and file Assignments and Revocation and Power of Attorney documents, and notifications of change of correspondence address to foreign associates. Assist IP File Transfer team and Loss Prevention Department to review discrepancy and inventory reports to verify data is accurate. Research and correct Chain of Title information to obtain Power of Attorney. Correspond with client and or foreign associate as needed to obtain missing file documents, official correspondence or assignment information. Monitor Docket as needed to complete file transfer actions timely. Assist with purging files which are being transferred from the firm. Provide back-up assistance for preparation of U.S. and International filings, such as new applications, formalities, and information disclosure statements. Performs other duties as needed to support the IP File Transfer Team.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma (or equivalent), college degree or technical training beyond high school is preferred. 2-4 years of high-level U.S. and foreign patent/trademark IP experience. Proficiency with U.S. and foreign patent and trademark office websites and the ability to research and locate data. Advanced paralegal, formalities and IP docket experience and working knowledge of billing and records software. Requires the ability to pass three IP knowledge exams.

You all are doing a great job. I've heard some things that I know are obvious lies, but that's expected. Everyone can't be privy to everything.

Pros : There are so many great people working here. They are willing to share knowledge and help each other. The office tries to keep staff mingling and involved by frequent appreciation events. There is also a great benefits package.
Cons : You have to pay for your own parking. The firm has paid spots available in the building, but they are reserved for attorneys. Although most people agree the pay is good, let them make you an offer. This is not necessarily unique to this company, though. If you unknowingly low-ball yourself, they will accept it.
