Paralegal-FOIA Specialist
The candidate will conduct independent analysis and apply FOIA and PA exemptions and/or exclusions as appropriate. Review FOIA/PA requests to obtain associated responsive documents located within OFAC divisions a. When required, reconcile divergent office/agency responses b. Review responsive records in accordance with 5 USC 552, 5 USC 552a, the Treasury’s implementing regulations/instructions and applicable laws. Redact documents in accordance with the provisions applicable instructions and policy. Make appropriate annotations to records. Process cases through the submitter notice process. Review submitter objections and make initial recommendations regarding objections to the government program manager. Review objections, prepare correspondence and submit for review. Prepare for Litigation. Submit cases for inspection/review by government authority. Should have experience applying experienced in the application of all of the exemptions but must have demonstrated experience in 4 and 7. Should have Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years of work experience. Should have ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment and relate well to others.
