Legal Intern C will have the opportunity to work with seasoned attorneys on matters concerning: (1) various environmental statutes, such as the Clean Air Act, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and the National Environmental Policy Act; (2) oil and gas issues at the federal, state, and local levels, such as Federal Energy Regulatory Commission proceedings, and leasing and hydraulic fracturing issues; and (3) trade association corporate legal issues, such as antitrust, corporate compliance, and records retention. Conduct legal research on various environmental, administrative, and corporate law topics and present findings in writing and/or orally to API in-house attorneys. Assist API attorneys with litigation, notice and comment rulemaking, and legislative drafting and analysis. Coordinate with API attorneys on internal corporate matters such as records retention, antitrust, and compliance issues. Attend internal and external meetings as needed. Must be currently pursuing a J.D. from an accredited institution. Should have interest in the oil and gas industry or administrative law. Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed. Internship will last for no more than 3 months with a 30 hour workweek
