A law firm in Chicago, IL is seeking a dedicated Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to join its team. The candidate will collaborate closely with the firm's established litigators and diverse client base, offering significant opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients in labor and employment law matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on labor and employment issues.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Assist in litigation and dispute resolution related to labor and employment cases.
  • Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Handle administrative proceedings before agencies such as the EEOC and NLRB.
  • Conduct investigations into employment-related issues as needed.
  • Participate in client meetings and consultations.

Requirements:

  • 1-10 years of experience practicing law in a law firm or corporate legal department, with a focus on labor and employment law preferred.
  • Admission to the Nevada Bar (active and in good standing).
  • Strong preference for candidates with prior experience in labor and employment law; general civil litigation experience is also beneficial.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Nevada State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc.).
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor and employment laws.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear recommendations.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
