The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of personal injury cases, from initial consultations through negotiations, depositions, hearings, and trials. Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in personal injury cases from initial consultation through to trial, including case preparation and representation in court.
- Perform comprehensive case reviews, including analysis of medical records, accident reports, and other relevant documents.
- Engage in settlement negotiations with insurance companies and opposing counsel to secure fair compensation for clients.
- Handle depositions and oversee the discovery process, including preparation of witnesses and case documentation.
- Draft and file legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
- Represent clients at hearings and trials, presenting evidence and legal arguments effectively.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and legal advice throughout the case lifecycle.
- Manage client intake, develop case strategies, and tailor legal approaches based on individual client needs.
- Collaborate with medical experts, investigators, and other professionals to strengthen case arguments.
- Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of case files, meeting all deadlines and legal requirements.
- Contribute to firm-wide initiatives, supporting team development and enhancing client success.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Must be admitted to practice law in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, or North Dakota.
- Experience in personal injury law or related litigation preferred.
- Ability to reliably commute to the office and travel locally to meet with clients as needed.
- Previous experience in a professional office environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills, including comfort with phone consultations and client interactions.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a legal team.
- High level of professionalism and the ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
Certifications:
