Commercial Real Estate Paralegal The Candidate will be responsible for Examine title abstract. Draft various legal documents for attorney review. Conduct title searches; review and analyze title reports. Investigate and research land records; collect and review source documents and materials. Function as a liaison between clients and attorneys. Assist in commercial closings.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education sufficient to indicate ability to be successful in the position; ABA approved paralegal certification an asset with 5-7 years paralegal experience; thorough knowledge of real estate process. Should have excellent written and oral communication skills and have good organizational skills; ability to effectively plan work assignments to meet client needs. Must have strong attention to detail and skill in proofreading complex documents with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks. Ability to work independently, yet be an active contributor in a focused work team. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet search applications.

It is a very hectic place. The work is long and the stress high. The moving up part is very confusing and could use some work. The senior partners do not care at all about the lower level people and that gets confusing.

Pros : This is a large firm and has top level clients. They also only recruit from the best and brightest so you feel very much at home if you fit into that category. I did and I was very happy at the first when I was able to get into such high level cases and clients. The work is very intense and the pay is excellent.
Cons : It is hard to get ahead here. I was constantly competing for time with senior partners in order to get ahead. So was everyone else. The more you work does not always mean the higher up you will go. It is a very competitive culture.
