Corporate and IP Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for providing general corporate, estate estate planning and intellectual property paralegal and administrative support to the firm's attorneys. Manage the formation and organization of various business entities. Provide ongoing support in maintaining their legal filings and corporate records. Prepare estate planning documents including wills, power of attorney, trusts, health care directives. Preparing and filing U.S. applications for trademark and service mark registration as well as ancillary prosecution and maintenance filings. Preparing correspondence to and communicating with clients and local counsel regarding corporate, estate planning and trademark prosecution and maintenance issues. Keeping attorneys apprised of upcoming deadlines and working with them to apprise clients. Working on other kind of matters/cases assigned by attorneys from time to time.
The candidate should have BA or BS (or equivalent). Advanced degree preferred. Paralegal certificate (or equivalent) required. Minimum 3 years of experience in a law office or corporate legal department. Excellent time management, organizational abilities, attention to detail and strong proofreading skills are also required. Experience with corporate, estate planning and IP rights is preferred. Mandarin Chinese speaking preferred. The candidate must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point). Knowledge of confidentiality rules and ability to maintain strictest confidence. Details, driving projects to completion before deadlines, and coordinating efforts between internal team leader and external counterparts (clients, outside counsel, etc.). Must have a demonstrated ability to work under pressure and with frequent interruptions.
