Attorney Development Manager (Corporate) The candidate will collaborate with the practice group leaders and partners to ensure that the individual development needs of associates are addressed. Facilitate frequent, real-time feedback between partners and associates and organize and support periodic practice group partner meetings to share knowledge of associate work, feedback and training. Assist the practice group leaders and partners with the associate feedback processes by gathering and organizing feedback and guidance on associate performance. Work with partners to ensure associates are receiving clear and actionable feedback as well as going-forward strategies to achieve their goals prior to the next formal review period. Maintain records on individual associates pertaining to their development. Coordinate associate work assignments, ensuring access to work for all associates in the group, to provide fast and appropriate coverage for all staffing needs. Perform analysis of associate metrics, including availability and utilization information, to facilitate even distribution of work across all offices, and make strategic staffing recommendations based on knowledge of associate skills, interests and workload. Partner with practice group leaders and associates to help associates achieve individual goals relating to productivity and to help the practice group maintain productivity levels. Where necessary, coordinate work assignments with other practice groups. Help the practice group to maintain an appropriate level of pro bono work. Collaborate with the practice group leaders, partners and other ADMs to plan for future workforce needs and manage the associate pool. Collaborate with other Attorney Talent and Practice Development professionals to share capacity projections and target planning. Work with Attorney Talent to manage associate transitions, including but not limited to secondments, leaves of absence, and flexible working arrangements. Contribute to the planning, design and implementation of a comprehensive formal skills training program with the practice group training committee, practice group leaders, partners, and the Professional Development team. Partner the Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion to ensure senior leadership accountability for a diverse talent pipeline. Collaborate with the firm’s affinity groups and Flex Committee to ensure that the professional development needs of attorneys of diverse attorneys and those on reduced schedules are being addressed. Assist with other professional development initiatives, including recruiting materials and process, integration of new and lateral associates, orientation, training camps, mentoring programs, and other programs and initiatives. J.D. degree and 4+ years practice experience is required, preferably practicing at a peer law firm. Prior experience in staffing, professional development or practice support is a plus.
