Paralegal (Employment Law) The candidate will gather responsive documents, interview witnesses, and draft position statements in response to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission charges. Assist with response to federal and state agency inquiries (Department of Labor, Occupational Safety & Health Association) inquiries. Conduct research on emerging issues of federal and state employment law. Communicate with restaurant operators, various departments at the Restaurant Support Center, and outside counsel to assist with discovery requests. Draft responses and/or objections to interrogatories and requests for production. Coordinate with restaurant operations and outside counsel to schedule witnesses for deposition appearances, verify discovery responses. Maintain discovery database to ensure accuracy and consistency in discovery responses. Assist with responses to subpoenas for employment records. Assist with litigation hold procedures. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Legal Assistant or Paralegal Certificate preferred. Should have 3-5 years of experience working on employment law matters. Must have ability to draft position clear, concise, and persuasive position statements. Prior experience in hospitality industry is a plus. Must have current/prior experience within Employment Law.
