Justice of the Peace Court Clerk The candidate enters information into County's Odyssey and interfaces with Justice Information Management System (JIMS) computer systems. Answers multi-line phone and directs calls where appropriate. Performs extensive data entry and filing. Receives and properly applies county funds for traffic and criminal cases and is responsible for balancing all financial transaction at the end of the day. Updates and scans case records and files cases. Assists the Judge in court as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Must have High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Should have 2+ years of full-time Justice of the Peace experience, including knowledge with legal procedures, terminology, the court system, and customer service skills. Basic knowledge of computers and related software comprised of Microsoft Windows and Word is required. Detail oriented and excellent verbal and written communication skills is needed. Experience as a Paralegal, working in a law office or a court is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese is desired. Deadline: 06/17/18
