Part time Claims Representative The candidate will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating and disposing of all assigned claims. Such assignments may be non-routine, complex and sensitive requiring significant follow-through, persistence and business acumen. Obtains backup documentation to substantiate claims by interviewing parties involved, including witnesses, physicians, etc. Reviews and analyzes data related to claims, and interacts with plaintiff and defense attorneys regarding cases. Must have Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Should have 5 years related experience required. Experience in professional liability insurance and exposure to the medical profession is preferred. Paralegal certification and/or industry designations preferred, (IIA, AIC, AEI, and/or CPCU). Ability to write and communicate clearly and effectively in English is needed. Additional language skills appropriate to the patient populations served by the Medical Center is a plus. Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze information, determine a course of action and implement the selected course of action is must. Excellent computer skills needed; proficient in MS Word and Excel is essential.
