Manage pending criminal defense cases and postconviction cases. Primary duties in immigration matters include drafting applications and petitions, compiling supporting documentation in applications for relief in immigration court, developing and compiling evidence, and preparing witness statements and testimony. Primary duties in criminal matters include ordering discovery and transcripts, preparing motions and filings with criminal courts, developing mitigation packets, and other general case duties. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, associates degree, or equivalent professional experience. 2 years of paralegal experience in immigration law, criminal defense, or a related field. Written and spoken fluency in Spanish and English. Strong attention to detail. Database and calendar management skills. Ability to work with and engage diverse communities. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work under deadlines. Superior analytical and communication skills, excellent time management, and the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Must be well organized, detail oriented, and fluent in written and spoken Spanish and English. Should have a commitment to immigrant rights, a healthy distrust of arbitrary government, and a willingness to advocate and litigate creatively on behalf of clients.
