Job Overview
A well-established and respected law firm is currently seeking a highly skilled Family Law Associate Attorney. This mid-senior-level position is open to individuals with 4-7 years of experience in family law, ideally in a private firm setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of family law matters, including representing clients in court, mediation, and settlement negotiations, as well as drafting legal documents such as motions and discovery. The role offers the opportunity for collaboration across multiple office locations, with a focus on achieving the best possible results for clients.

Duties

  • Represent clients in family law cases before judicial officers and mediators.
  • Draft legal documents including motions, discovery requests, and other related materials.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations to resolve family law disputes.
  • Advise clients on a wide range of family law issues.
  • Work with colleagues in a collaborative and supportive environment to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Travel periodically between office locations as needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in family law.
  • Prior experience in a private firm setting, with responsibility for client matters and client communication.
  • Experience managing cases independently and providing strategic recommendations.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, especially in a courtroom setting.
  • Strong research skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A commitment to the practice of family law and a strong work ethic.
  • A desire to continue learning and developing professionally.
  • Must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of California.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of California.
