Paralegal
Duties: Assist with the preparation of tax returns, including, federal estate tax return, Form 706. Compose, edit, and revise letters, basic agreements. Able to research statutes and find answers re: practice and procedure. Read a Will and Trust Agreement and summarize the common provisions contained in those documents. General office duties (organization/order supplies). Manage office correspondence. Electronic filing of documents on office server. Maintain calendar and schedule appointments. Review and pay bills pursuant to set procedures. Input daily time records. Answer phones. Prepare Excel spreadsheets to track information. Create, maintain, and organize new and closed files. Work independently and establish priorities.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate will have 3+ years of experience in Estate Planning, Tax, and Probate. Will be a second or third year law student and have had estate planning, income tax, and estate and gift tax classes and/or an LLM student. Trusts and estates/tax work experience is preferred. Must have the ability to work well for multiple people. Should have basic knowledge of the probate process and preparation of estate tax returns, and should be a self-starter, patient, detail-oriented, and personable. Strong work ethic, problem solving abilities, and superior writing skills.
Schedule: Hours may be 4 to 5 hours a day.
Initial project term may run 7 months
