Evictions Legal Assistant Duties: Process and manage a select set of national eviction files. process new referrals and set up the files in the website (Intake). Assist with processing rent collection files received through the website platform (Property Management). Adhere to policy, procedures, and timelines. Comply with all internal directive/client requirements. Identify & report issues with files; lay the foundation for the Team Leads and Attorneys to respond to issues. Update and Process all files through the website. Manage website Dashboard. Complete all notifications daily. Complete all Follow-ups as scheduled. Complete all Requests as scheduled. Monitor Local Counsels’ activity during the eviction process by following up on the status of eviction and assisting them in obtaining whatever documents or information needed to expedite the file. Manage Emails and ensure all emails are appropriately updated via the website and filed in I-manage.. Routinely update Clients on the status of the eviction file. Identify and manage Litigated and Bankruptcy files and escalate these files when appropriate to the Team Lead. Open new file, both physical and in the PM website, for all new Rent Collection files. Update website as needed. Prepare and send engagement Letters to Clients. For FL files Prepare and send Demand for Rent letters to the Property. For all other States referral file to Local Counsel to send out a Demand for Rent. Field Calls from Tenants. Monitor Files for Rental payments. Process Rental Payments. Receive payments from Tenants. Send to accounting for check processing. Maintain spreadsheet of checks sent to accounting to confirm the check has cleared the escrow account and a check has been processed to the Client.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelors degree, or equivalent work experience, is required. Paralegal certification from an accredited institution preferred. Strong oral/written communication skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment with the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), Internet Use & Web based programs. Excellent customer service skills. Have comprehensive understanding of the Eviction processes on a national level.
