Law Fellows - Fair Hearing Division The candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with Office of Legal Affairs attorneys and will assist in research, legal writing as well as providing litigation support directly to program. Fellows will review fair hearing decisions and audio transcript tapes to assist attorneys in determining whether an appeal is warranted as well as documenting and explaining certain legal trends contained within Fair Hearing decisions. Fellows will also assist in drafting fair hearing reconsideration letters for possible appeal. Fellows will also have the opportunity to observe actual fair hearings by accompanying HRA attorneys. Candidates must be disciplined, have strong organizational skills, strong legal writing skills, the ability to multi-task and a strong commitment to public interest work.
