Contracts Specialist The candidate will manage primary and subcontracting federal government contract process, and other contracts as needed. Draft contract provisions and supporting documents, assist in the preparation of potentially complex contractual provisions. Work directly with corporate executives and external stakeholders to clarify provisions, continue negotiation as appropriate, and, pending stakeholder approvals and any requisite legal counsel, reach final agreement. Review new contracts to ensure terms comply with company policies and submitted proposals. Act as a primary point of contact with the Government Contracting Specialist. Accurately interpret the terms of a contract, verify appropriate credentials; evaluate a contract's performance. Ensure the contract terms comply with company's policies, as well as local and regional guidelines. Introduce amendments to language or terms, as appropriate, in the best interest of the company. Responsible for version control, document retention, tracking deadlines. Extend and renegotiate contracts. Execute subcontracts and consulting agreements. Assist with contract termination procedures. If contract terms are changed, communicate with stakeholders and initiate and manage appropriate legal proceedings. Collaborate with Business Development and Operations leads to establish or refine our contracts and proposal administration processes. Responsible for preparing bids and negotiating specifications with suppliers, partners or customers. Act as liaison between organization and subcontractors to implement the contracts. Perform commonly used contracting methods and contract types related to pre-award, post-award and/or price/cost analysis functions to perform well-defined and precedent contract actions.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent number of years of contract experience. Paralegal experience is a plus. Should have 3-5 years of experience in Federal Government contracting, which includes the drafting of complex contracts – including provisions, and solicitation documents. Must have demonstrated clear written and verbal communication and attention to detail and thoroughness.
