Information Technology / Electronically Stored Information (IT/ESI) Litigation Paralegal
Duties: Under the supervision of Litigation Director, will assist legal teams on all technical aspects of litigation including e-filing, electronic document management, e-discovery, graphical representation of exhibits, and trial presentations. Will work with all members of our case teams, our in-house IT staff, outside and opposing counsel and their staff, court reporters and court personnel to insure all litigation IT needs are timely and fully met. Will assist and train end-users on the use of litigation support software and equipment and will resolve any technical issues that arise. Will be housed in the Chapel Hill, North Carolina office, travel to other offices and attendance at trial is expected.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Prior experience in a similar position with a litigation trial practice. A high aptitude for IT systems, software and equipment, particularly those utilized in litigation. Complete knowledge and understanding of the litigation process and procedures. Expertise in processing, converting, loading, tagging, exporting and the overall management of data and records received and produced through discovery and public records requests. Experience with Relativity, Concordance, Logikull and Trial Director or similar software programs. Ability to develop, stream-line and implement best-practice procedures and systems. Ability to take initiative, to anticipate and solve problems, and to remain on-task until work is complete and issues are resolved. Great listening and communication skills. Ability to focus, attend to details, and juggle multiple assignments and complete them on time. Ability to work independently and with teams of legal professionals. Proficiency in all MS Office applications. Willingness to stay current on litigation and courtroom technologies with the goal of bringing useful state-of-the-art applications and tools. Will possess broad, applied litigation technology expertise in these areas and will be knowledgeable and prepared to recommend appropriate IT equipment and software to enhance our complex litigation practice.
