The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in patent application drafting and prosecution. Expertise in inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering, or pharmaceuticals is required. Duties

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications related to chemical technologies, including organic and inorganic chemistry, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals.
  • Review and analyze invention disclosures to prepare and file patent applications.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on patentability, freedom-to-operate, and IP strategy.
  • Assist in preparing responses to office actions, including arguments to overcome rejections.
  • Collaborate with inventors, legal teams, and clients to ensure the proper protection of intellectual property.
  • Conduct patent research, including patentability searches and freedom-to-operate assessments.
  • Stay current with industry trends and legal developments related to patent law.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in patent application drafting and prosecution.
  • Strong technical background in one or more of the following areas: inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Proficient in preparing patent applications, office action responses, and other related legal documents.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, effective patent claims.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams and clients.

Education

  • A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.

Certifications

  • Registration to practice before the . Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) preferred, or the ability to sit for the patent bar exam.
