Job Title: Intellectual Property Patent Engineer or Patent Agent

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a highly skilled Patent Engineer or Registered Patent Agent to join their expanding Intellectual Property team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys with a diverse range of clients, focusing on patent prosecution in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills to effectively manage patent filings and related intellectual property matters.

Duties:

• Assist attorneys in patent prosecution, including drafting and filing patent applications.
• Conduct patentability searches and analyze prior art.
• Manage client interactions and assist with client counseling on intellectual property matters.
• Collaborate with attorneys to prepare responses to office actions from the . Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Support in patent portfolio management for diverse clients across various industries.
• Stay updated on intellectual property laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Assist in conducting technical research to support patent applications.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of experience in patent prosecution.
• Strong knowledge of . patent law and familiarity with USPTO procedures.

Education:
