Legal - Counsel - Discovery Response - Associate The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all sworn documents executed by the Discovery Response Analysts comply with the Sworn Document Execution Policy and Procedures. Will primarily be charged with reviewing sworn documents and supporting documents for errors or misapplication of guidelines as well as other special projects as needed. Work very closely with colleagues in the Legal Department and outside counsel to assess accuracy of information as well as responsiveness to Discovery Requests in order to help Chase defend the lawsuit. Perform extensive systematic and process related loan account research. Prioritize work and appropriately escalate issues requiring special attention. Should have JD degree and Bar membership. Must have 3+ years of experience in litigation environment. Must have 1+ years experience in mortgage servicing environment, preferably within an area of customer service research and/or legal, foreclosure and bankruptcy or related fields, i.e., law firm, title company. Familiarity with litigation related documents (pleadings, affidavits, etc.) and litigation process, gained through work experience is essential. Must have strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a proven record of exercising sound judgment. Must have computer software knowledge, preferably Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, etc.). Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must. Must be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based or otherwise in compliance with the in-house counsel registration rules of that state/jurisdiction. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A strong command and deep knowledge of the foreclosure process and all related processes is essential. Litigation experience and legal training are required.
