ProfileSpring Law Student Internships, Legal Unit Intern work closely with the District's legal unit performing tasks including: (1) legal research and writing; (2) functioning as team members on district litigation and performing tasks such as discovery assistance, interviews and claimant development. Interns will also attend internal legal/enforcement meetings, local conferences, trials and hearings which occur during the period of their internship. Interns will be provided with exposure to all aspects of the EEOC process (intake, investigation, federal hearings and introduction to mediation). Interns will also be given opportunities to work with district personnel outside the legal unit. Should have completed at least one year of law school. Excellent writing skills and people skills and interest in public interest work legal work.
