Legal Secretary II The candidate: Organizes, indexes, and files legal and administrative documents. Answers the phone, providing general information or routing calls as appropriate. Coordinates travel arrangements for legal staff and prepares or processes related paperwork and files. Assists in preparing, proofreading, and editing legal and administrative documents. Assists in organizing trial and hearing materials. Develops, coordinates and successfully maintains record keeping and filing systems for attorneys’ cases. Obtains and follows requirements for proper filing and delivery of documents in state, federal and appellate courts. Performs general secretarial, administrative and clerical duties. Performs related work as assigned. Maintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions. Attends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule. Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information. Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity. Graduation from high school or equivalent is essential. Should have 1+ year full time general administrative, clerical or secretarial experience. Legal secretarial experience in a civil litigation environment is essential. Experience in formatting and binding appellate briefs is needed. Should have experience working in state or federal government.
