Chief Counsel, Solutions and Regulatory
The candidate will manage large teams of experienced attorneys focused on enabling business strategy through creative problem solving, proactive solution development and risk mitigation. Work closely with appropriate ELT and SLT to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations during creation and implementation of new core medical and behavioral solutions and strategies. Participate in appropriate ELT and SLT business and operational review meetings to present key legal priorities and provide counsel to business partners. Manage team of attorneys and regulatory experts responsible for assessment of new laws and regulations applicable to assigned business areas. Ensure consistent interpretation of legal and regulatory requirements is communicated to other key partners. Manage firm's privacy attorneys to ensure company is appropriately collecting, using, maintaining and retaining data of various constituencies including clients, customers, employees, prospects, etc. Understand internal and external business environment and use analytical skills and experience to recommend options to minimize litigation and regulatory risk related to TH&N, core medical, and behavioral business teams. Provide strategic guidance to enable business partners to leverage, share and analyze data across various business segments. Serve as key escalation point for ELT and SLT related to legal and regulatory issues related to clinical (UM/UR) and network operations issues related to core medical and behavioral solutions. Serve as key liaison between US Healthcare business leaders and State and Federal Government Affairs teams to ensure lobbying efforts are focusing on highest priority issues and challenges. Provide dotted line legal oversight for firm's cost-containment program.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have 4 year college degree and JD Degree. Bar Admittance is essential. Must have 10+ years of in-house experience. Should have strong regulatory/compliance background. Experience leading large teams is needed. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the ability to effectively interact with and influence a variety of senior management and external regulatory agencies.
