Corporate Legal Assistant The candidate will assist in the organization, administration and maintenance of all agreements, amendments, statements of work and related documentation through the Contracts Management System. Will provide assistance with corporate transactions, legal compliance, minute book maintenance, regulatory requirements and filings, state qualifications and general legal matters. Monitoring and ensuring compliance with contract provisions and deadlines, which may include communication with management, business developers, customers and vendors. Ensures licensure and regulatory filings are timely and monitors renewals and follow-up. Prepares and drafts various amendments and addenda to customer contracts including exhibits as required, and to ensure the completeness and accuracy thereof. Compiles and drafts regular legislative/compliance newsletters for clients.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelorâ€™s degree or equivalent experience, plus paralegal certification or compatible completed legal assistant course of study. Must have 5 years relevant law firm or in-house experience as a Corporate Legal Assistant. Proficiency with computer skills, including advanced skills in Microsoft WordÂ®, PowerPointÂ®, and ExcelÂ® required. Must have sound foundation and general understanding of contract law; reviews and interprets contracts. Must have proficiency with research skills, including Westlaw, to execute diverse research tasks associated with the position.
