Contracts Manager The candidate performs all activities associated with drafting, redlining, and negotiating commercial contracts for the provision of drilling rigs and associated services in both Spanish and English. Unpacks and reviews all contractual elements of competitive tender documents including intent to bid, financial and performance guarantees, and general and special terms and conditions. Coordinates with other functions, including human resources, insurance, and tax, etc. to ensure alignment with all stakeholders of the commercial transaction. Informs management to obtain approvals on contractual risks, benefits, and deviations from risk policy. Serves as a gatekeeper for the contracting process and a resource for internal and external inquiries related to contract issues, such as payment obligations and operational responsibilities. Updates document templates and risk policies. Provides periodic training for relevant stakeholders. Advises on settlement of customer claims. Works with advises and provides practical solutions to business clients directly. Performs additional duties as assigned and participates in special projects as required.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have an undergraduate degree; a law degree is preferred. Should have 5 years combined oil and gas experience in a position drafting and reviewing contracts with at least 3 years directly negotiating contracts in the Latin American Region with nationally owned entities. Advanced knowledge of indemnity structures with the ability to draft, negotiate and modify contractual risk allocations. Ability to foresee and effectively communicate potential outcomes of unfavorable contract provisions. Knowledge of business law concepts, anti-indemnity statutes, legal terminology, and contract language. Knowledge of risk management and insurance issues. General knowledge of drilling processes and procedures. General knowledge of oilfield equipment and services. General knowledge of safety and environmental regulations/requirements. Capable of utilizing effective time management skills and meeting strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and at all levels within the customer organization that are involved in contract development and negotiation. Flexibility and the capacity to handle a wide range of situations and personalities. Competency in business software packages such as Word and Excel. Experience using Apptus and Salesforce software preferred. Fluency in Spanish required.
