Job Overview: A law firm in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a highly experienced Litigation Of Counsel to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive litigation experience, preferably focusing on product liability and complex commercial litigation, including pharmaceutical and medical device industry exposure. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and managing complex cases independently while collaborating effectively with other legal professionals.
Job Duties:
- Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
- Supervise and mentor associates in legal research, case analysis, and strategy development.
- Work with experts to develop case theories and strategies.
- Assist in fact development through document review, witness interviews, and depositions.
- Review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and legal memoranda.
- Contribute to the development and execution of case strategy.
- Manage multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality work products promptly.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies and ethical standards.
- Participate in virtual and in-person meetings and conferences as required.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- JD degree from an accredited law school.
- 8+ years of litigation experience, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm.
- Experience in product liability and complex commercial litigation.
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and medical device industry is a plus.
- Admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania; candidates licensed in New York are encouraged to apply.
- Strong analytical and writing skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Research, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking abilities.
- Strong business judgment and ability to influence others.
- Management and supervisory experience is desirable.
- Additional degrees such as MD, MPH, PharmD, or Epidemiology are advantageous.
