A law firm in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney III with 10+ years of civil litigation experience. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice in Texas courts and have a strong background in handling a variety of civil litigation matters, including personal injury, trucking/auto, commercial construction defect liability, products liability, and premises liability. They should demonstrate excellent legal research and analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and proficiency in managing a substantial caseload for nationwide clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload involving personal injury, construction defect liability, trucking/auto accidents, products liability, and premises liability matters.
  • Draft, prepare, and handle pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis.
  • Draft and respond to written discovery requests and dispositive motions.
  • Prepare for and take depositions of parties and expert witnesses.
  • Review client documents, draft case evaluations, and prepare status report correspondence.
  • Assist and participate in mediations and court appearances.
  • Attend informal and formal hearings at various legal venues, including the Workers’ Compensation Commission.
  • Interact directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues, and support staff.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas; additional court admissions preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in civil litigation, with a strong track record of handling complex cases.
  • Demonstrated history of academic excellence.
  • Knowledge of both state and federal court procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional organization and prioritization abilities.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
