Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for assisting the Legal Department with the intake and tracking of litigation and correspondence, organization of various legal agreements, and providing administrative assistance to members of the Legal Department, as needed. College degree and post-baccalaureate certification from an accredited paralegal program. Should have 1-3 years of experience at a law firm or in-house legal department. Prior mortgage servicing, foreclosure, or real estate experience preferred. Prior litigation experience preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong reading comprehension and written communication skills a must. Ability to manage large number of projects simultaneously and work within deadlines. Knowledge of consumer financial, foreclosure, and real estate law. Experience with Black Knight programs, including MSP and LoanSphere a plus. Experience with Thomson Reuters Legal Tracker (aka Serengeti) a plus. Responsible for the intake, tracking, and management of the company’s litigation and other legal matters. Gathering and organizing electronic documents for initial case reviews, discovery requests, subpoena responses, and exhibits. Conducting preliminary reviews of pleadings, motions, and other documents prepared by outside counsel for approval by the VP, Associate General Counsel. Communicating with outside counsel and the company’s business units regarding ongoing litigation and coordinating case strategy and settlement. Providing administrative assistance to members of the Legal Department as needed, including the Department’s complaints resolution, licensing and examinations, and regulatory compliance functions.
