A law firm seeks a highly motivated and experienced Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join their growing team. Duties:

  • Perform initial case evaluations and develop effective case strategies.
  • Manage and oversee a caseload of 150-250 workers' compensation cases.
  • Delegate tasks and manage the work of paralegals, case managers, legal assistants, and other support staff.
  • Conduct thorough discovery to gather necessary evidence for litigation.
  • Evaluate medical records and legal reports, applying the American Medical Association Guides to Permanent Disability 5th Edition.
  • Draft and review settlement demands based on case evaluation.
  • Negotiate settlements and advise clients on legal matters related to their workers’ compensation claims.
  • Represent clients at depositions, hearings, trials, and appellate proceedings.
  • Draft legal documents, including settlements, trial briefs, petitions, and other correspondence.
  • Communicate effectively with all parties involved, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and ensure all cases are progressing toward resolution.

Requirements:

  • Active admission to a State Bar or pending Bar exam results.
  • Proven experience managing workers' compensation cases.
  • Strong ability to analyze medical records and legal documents.
  • Experience negotiating settlements and making strategic legal recommendations.
  • Ability to represent clients in various legal proceedings, including depositions and trials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active law license in the state of practice or pending admission.

Skills:

  • Expertise in workers' compensation law and case management.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Skilled in medical record analysis and settlement negotiations.
  • Proficient in legal document preparation and courtroom advocacy.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, colleagues, and opposing parties.
  • Proficiency with case management software and other legal tools.
