Duties: Advise company on day-to-day employment law issues to ensure company complies with various labor, employment, benefits, immigration, and workplace safety laws (including NLRA, Title VII, Section 1981, FMLA, ADA, AADEA, ERISA, and OSHA). Advise company on medical leave issues and workers’ compensation matters. Advise company on termination of employment matters, including advising company of legal risks. Advise HR on handling unemployment compensation claims. Assist the company with drafting various employment policies and procedures. Handle investigations, audits, and training in the of labor, employment, benefits, immigration, and workplace safety laws. Research legal issues relating to labor, employment, benefits, immigration, and workplace safety laws. Draft memoranda to General Counsel, executives, and Team Members on various legal topics. Track and report any developments in labor, employment, benefits, immigration, and workplace safety laws. Independently handle a variety of litigation, arbitration, and mediation matters for the company (with emphasis on employment litigation and workers’ compensation cases). Oversee handling of garnishments, services of process, and subpoena responses. Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements. Perform all other duties as assigned by the General Counsel.

Qualification and Experience Qualifications: Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA-accredited Law School is required. Excellent academic credentials (Top 30% of law school class preferred). Alabama State Bar law license required. Should have 10-15 years of job-related experience preferred. 6-8 years of experience with a concentration in labor and employment law. Independently handles a variety of litigation, arbitration, and mediation matters for the company (with emphasis on employment litigation and workers’ compensation cases). Proficiency MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
