Director, Cinema Marketing Legal Affairs The candidate will be the lead legal advisor to firm's Cinema group and firm's Global Marketing group. Will partner closely with business executives in these areas, providing day-to-day legal assistance on a broad variety of legal issues with a focus on transactional matters. Lead legal interactions with large film studios and other firm's partners in the entertainment industry. Assist business leaders in the rapidly-expanding firm's Cinema movie theater initiative. Advise firm's marketing team on legal compliance, intellectual property protection, and documentation of creative relationships. Partner with the Cinema Products and Cinema Sales teams on hardware and software initiatives and program development, from development through sale. Draft, negotiate, and finalize a wide variety of legal agreements related to the foregoing, including development agreements, license agreements, service agreements, purchase agreements, supply agreements and equipment lease agreements. Create and improve processes and procedures for legal interactions with the Cinema and Global Marketing groups.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have JD degree from a top-tier law school, and admitted to practice law in at least one State Bar. Must have 8-10 years of transactional legal experience at a law firm and/or in-house. Must have 5 years of experience negotiating and drafting entertainment-related contracts, ideally including multiple transactions with large film studios and exhibitors. Must have 3+ years of experience advising a consumer-facing company on its day-to-day marketing activities, both domestic and international. Should include product claims, digital marketing, and transactions with creatives and agencies. Expertise on issues related to the development and launch of hardware and software products, ideally in the cinema space is required.
