Paralegal The candidate will manage various Paralegal responsibilities, including contract administration, document management, and maintenance and preparation of corporate documentation. Will also assist with litigation matters, research legal issues and draft supporting documents as required. Support the day-to-day activities and projects of the enterprise-wide Legal department. Serve as the administrator for the Legal department's document and contract management systems, which includes the scanning and organization of client and vendor contracts, and other legal documents. Develop and implement procedures for contract management and document retention in compliance with company policy. Track, review, and manage contract workflow. This includes proper execution and distribution of all agreements with respective party, and updating involved stakeholders, as needed. Prepare, track, organize and file various documents, including secretary of state filings, insurance policies, company and individual license applications, renewals and other reports and documents, as needed. Assist with legal and compliance projects, including due diligence (vendor and client), necessary filings, and policy updates. Collaborate with Corporate Counsels to analyze and respond to subpoena requests. Update and maintain tracking spreadsheets, such as, approval and products spreadsheets. Create and facilitate work orders to Network Implementation, Business Development, and other departments as needed. Serve as liaison between CO-OP SME's and credit union clients, as needed. Assist with template creation and formatting upon provided direction.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree from four year college in business or related field; or 5+ years of legal experience; or a combination of education and experience along with a Corporate paralegal or risk/legal background. Certified Paralegal is preferred. Experience in the Financial Institution or EFT industry, with ATM or POS knowledge is desired. Credit Union industry experience/knowledge and 2-3 years law firm and/or in-house experience working with general corporate matters is also preferred. Must have thorough knowledge with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures along with knowledge of business registration process with secretary of state. Should have knowledge with Contract Management Databases (i.e. SpringCM) and be proficient PC knowledge and the use of standard software packages, such as MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Must have a basic understanding of contract law.
