A law firm seeks a junior to mid-level Healthcare Operations Associate Attorney for a national healthcare practice in the Washington, . The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials and a demonstrated interest in healthcare law. This role offers the opportunity to gain significant experience while contributing to high-profile healthcare matters, including regulatory compliance, healthcare fraud, and government investigations.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on state licensure issues for healthcare entities and practitioners
  • Assist with government payor enrollment, reimbursement processes, and audits, particularly related to Medicare and Medicaid
  • Provide counsel on healthcare fraud and abuse laws, including anti-kickbackStark, and CMP provisions
  • Support government investigations and related litigation in the healthcare sector
  • Offer guidance on HIPAAprivacy, and security regulations
  • Contribute to healthcare system operations and payor contracting
  • Provide regulatory and transactional support for healthcare M&A (mergers and acquisitions) transactions

Requirements:

  • At least two years of experience in healthcare law
  • Strong interest and knowledge in areas such as state licensureMedicare/Medicaidfraud and abuse lawsHIPAA, and healthcare M&A
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and the ability to navigate complex legal issues
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with excellent analytical skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar admission in the District of Columbia

Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong research and analytical abilities in complex legal matters
  • Understanding of healthcare law and regulatory frameworks, including MedicareMedicaid, and healthcare fraud regulations
  • Proficiency in healthcare M&A and related transactional support
  • Knowledge of privacy laws, including HIPAA, and security regulations
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
