Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a highly skilled and motivated Senior Patent Litigation Attorney to join its growing team. This role is based in Atlanta, GA, with flexibility for hybrid or remote work for exceptionally qualified candidates. The firm specializes in complex patent litigation, representing clients across a broad range of industries and technologies. This position offers the opportunity to lead key aspects of litigation cases, collaborate with a talented team of attorneys, and contribute to the firm’s strategic litigation approach.

Duties:

  • Oversee day-to-day management of multiple patent litigation cases from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct and respond to discovery requests, ensuring accuracy and strategy alignment.
  • Prepare, draft, and argue motions and other legal filings in federal court.
  • Handle fact and expert witness depositions, preparing both witnesses and questioning strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external experts to develop technical arguments and case themes.
  • Analyze patents, technical documents, and prior art to craft legal strategies.
  • Advise clients on case progress, litigation risks, and potential outcomes.
  • Participate in hearings, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing efforts and mentor junior attorneys where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • 4 to 10 years of experience focusing on patent litigation, ideally within a law firm setting.
  • Strong understanding of patent laws, litigation processes, and federal court procedures.
  • Proven ability to independently manage discovery, motions practice, and depositions.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex technical information into clear and persuasive legal arguments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and clients.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative litigation team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • An active license is required to practice law in at least one . jurisdiction (Georgia preferred).
  • USPTO registration is a plus, but not required.

Skills:

  • Advanced legal research and legal writing.
  • Case strategy development and tactical planning.
  • Technical aptitude in understanding patent-related subject matter.
  • Oral advocacy and motion practice.
  • Deposition preparation and examination.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
