Paralegal/Legal Assistant Duties: Perform quality work within deadlines with or without supervision. Interact professionally with other employees, clients and suppliers at all times. Work effectively to contribute to the team at all times. Work independently while understanding the necessity for communication and coordinating work efforts with other employees within the firm. To provide research and reporting and trial support to assigned attorney(s) ensuring proactive and complete preparation as well as confidentiality at all times. Research case information before deposition. Utilize online and internal resources to resource information for cases. Go through responses and job site reports. Tag page and line transcripts. Prepare Power Points. Indexing exhibits. Make copies of all necessary documents as needed. Compile information for pre-deposition reports. Review case documents and sort as needed. Gather supporting documents and evidence for attorney review and case preparation. Produce reports such as disposition charts and submit reports that summarize information.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Associates Degree in Legal/Paralegal Studies or equivalent experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to foster positive interpersonal relationships within the firm and its external clients, vendors and other attorney offices. Ability to multitask and shift priories as needed. Ability to maintain organized case files and documents both hard copy and electronic. Proven ability to prioritize and handle pressure in stressful situations. Experience using legal database software. Experience conducting legal research to identify case related laws, decisions and articles. Strong report generating skills. Technical understanding of defense litigation. High degree of discretion. Ability to foster trusting relationships with clients and ensure confidentiality at all times.
