Associate (Executive Compensation)
The candidate will work closely with all attorneys in the practice section, as well as interact directly with clients on a wide variety of highly sophisticated transactions. The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctor degree (JD) from an accredited law school. Must be a member of the New York State Bar. Must have experience working with public and private employers, including start-up companies, on all aspects of the executive compensation and benefits practice, with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions (including Section 280G analysis), financings, initial public offerings, executive terminations and hires, stock compensation plans and award agreements, nonqualified deferred compensation (Section 409A), general ERISA and group benefit plans, and public company reporting and disclosure obligations. An excellent academic background and exceptional research and writing skills are highly-valued. Must have strong interpersonal communication skills, excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of ethics and conduct codes. Large law firm experience is preferred. A demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that provides the highest level of client service. must have experience both working in teams and in managing certain aspects of transactions independently.

"Poor work-life balance but nice pay."

I would like to advise management that they should create staff positions for long-terms and growth opportunities should be provided on the basis of merit.

Pros : Pay is above market average and perks are also good. Other positive things are Friendly staff, good benefits and nice working environment. The firm has a great culture that promotes diversity and inclusiveness, which is rare to find these days.
Cons : Poor management and lack of confidentiality within management. They expect you to work 12 hours a day and six days a week. So work-life balance is very poor and workload is very high.
