Corporate Legal Assistant (Corporate Restructuring Manager) The candidate will assist with representation of debtors and creditors in large, complex chapter 11 restructurings. Will manage teams on matters with complex hearings and filings. Develop internal workflows and timelines to meet external, often fast-paced, deadlines. Coordinate with clients, firm lawyers, local counsel, corporate service companies and firm staff at all levels. Review conflicts reports and assist with disclosures preparations. Prepare pleading shells regarding motions, fee and retention applications, objections and responses. Perform substantive precedent research and analyze due diligence materials. Cite/fact check, Blue Book and format briefs, pleadings and other documents. Prepare UCC filings and coordinate lien searches. Monitor case dockets and track objections; maintain work-in-process checklists. Assist with professional development of junior lawyers and legal assistants. Participate in client development, market research and knowledge management efforts. Lead and coordinate invoice and billing review, including preparation of monthly and quarterly fee applications; conform per UST guidelines and applicable Local Rules.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have 5+ years of related experience in a restructuring or bankruptcy environment. Should have Bachelor’s degree from accredited school or equivalent work experience. Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, strong attention to detail. Must have polished oral and written communication talents, professional manner for client interactions. Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and meet deadlines with minimal oversight while working in a dynamic, exacting environment is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is essential. Deadline : 8/18/2020.
