Job Overview
A boutique commercial litigation law firm is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join its team. The firm handles a range of commercial litigation matters in both state and federal court and advises non-bank commercial finance companies on corporate and regulatory compliance. This position offers a remote work opportunity, with the expectation of occasional court appearances in New York City and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of litigation experience, with a preference for commercial litigation experience.

Duties

  • Manage commercial litigation cases from inception through resolution.
  • Handle court appearances and filings in state and federal court in New York.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda.
  • Advise clients on corporate and regulatory compliance matters.
  • Ensure timely communication with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex litigation matters.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for commercial litigation experience.
  • Must be admitted to practice law in New York.
  • Ability to independently manage cases from start to finish.
  • Experience with disclosure regulations and regulatory compliance is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be local to New York, as occasional in-person court appearances are required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in New York.

Skills

  • Strong commercial litigation experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent research, writing, and legal analysis skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients, courts, and colleagues.
