Senior Counsel, Labor and Employment The candidate will provide daily counseling on a broad array of significant and higher risk traditional labor and employment related issues, including recruitment and hiring, restrictive covenant issues, compensation and benefits, equal pay, accommodation requests, leaves of absence, investigations, performance reviews, disciplinary warnings, terminations, workplace safety, reorganizations, reductions in force, executive compensation, immigration, and international assignments. Will Assist with Company litigation (single plaintiff and Class), arbitrations, grievances and associated Administrative Charges. Provide legal support in connection with traditional labor matters ranging from organizing campaigns, contract negotiations, unfair labor practice charges, and grievance and arbitration matters. Assist with the drafting, interpretation and enforcement of employment, separation, non-competition, confidentiality, and consulting agreements. Creates, conducts and implements training modules on a variety of Labor and Employment related topics.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have JD degree from a nationally recognized law school. Must have 8+ years of substantive Labor and Employment experience in a fast paced environment. In house experience is a definite plus. Basic knowledge / Strong Fluency /Expert-level user of Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential. Familiarity with database management is helpful. Familiarity with Serengeti Tracker is helpful. A mix of substantive law firm and in house hands on labor and employment experience in a fast paced environment with constantly changing, priorities, schedules and assignments. Significant litigation and counseling experience on all facets of the employee-employer relationship is desired.
