Corporate Counsel, Labor and Employment The candidate should be responsible for assisting, advising, investigating and resolving legal matters primarily in the area of labor and employment. Provides labor and employment law guidance and support to client-facing and internal human resource professionals. Assists with identifying and developing strategies to mitigate employment law-related legal risks associated with consultative HR outsourcing. Identifies on-going training and support needs for client-facing and internal human resource professionals. Stays current on employment law developments. Investigates and responds to claims, EEOC charges and other administrative actions. Oversees employment litigation matters, regulatory hearings, and investigations. Maintains excellent partnerships with internal clients to meet their legal and business needs. Provides support for any other matter as may become necessary.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Law degree (JD) and 8+ years of labor and employment experience in private practice, a corporate legal department, or the equivalent. Position will be located in Rochester, New York. Must be admitted to practice law in New York. Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills. Must have the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management.
