ProfileParalegal The candidate will report to a Chief Counsel, Global Supply Chain. This position is for a Real Estate / Procurement Contract Paralegal with an emphasis in land sales closings, mortgage releases, corrective instruments, easements and other real estate related areas and fiber and sourcing procurement. Handle both substantive and administrative duties related to the position, including file management and will complete ongoing duties and special projects as assigned. Assist with investigating closing due diligence and post-closing issues, including title matters, and will review, draft and revise various real estate and corporate documents, including purchase and sale agreements, deeds, ownerâ€™s affidavits, escrow documents, corporate authority documentation, note and mortgage releases and modifications, easements, leases, service agreements, and other related and similar documents. Assist in real estate closings. Draft basic correspondence upon request and perform basic preliminary contract review under attorney supervision. This individual will report to, and primarily work with, two attorneys; however, this person will provide support to other members of the Legal Global Supply Chain team as needed and requested. Will provide legal support to Wood and Recovered Fiber Procurement, Oil, Gas and Minerals and Global Forestry and Sourcing Procurement by drafting, reviewing, editing and researching various documents including correspondence, contracts and other documents as needed.
Qualification and Experience
A Paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program is required. Should have College degree. Should have 5-7 years of significant real estate and contract paralegal experience either in a law firm or corporation. Must have experience in reviewing and drafting real estate and service documents and contract documents. Should have experience in real estate title review, investigation and resolution of issues. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Should have ability to perform legal research using Westlaw or Lexis.
