Assistant General Counsel The candidate will serve as the subject matter expert for labor and employment law. Play a key role in union negotiations, develop a strategy and provide counsel on all employment matters, EEO, federal matters and legal issues related to employee benefits. Work closely with the General Counsel, Human Resources, and SVPs on these matters. Remain up-to-date and competent in all areas of law relating to federal agency management. Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements and contracts. Research, draft, and provide support for the establishment of various Kennedy Center policies. Respond to the needs and requests of the Kennedy Center management and staff in a professional, expedient manner. Adhere to all employer policies and procedures. Must possess a JD from a law school accredited by the ABA. Must have 5+ years’ as a practicing attorney dealing with legal issues in related areas with a specific concentration in labor and employment law. Must be a member in good standing of the bar of the District of Columbia or other state. Must be able to work effectively in a sensitive, fast-paced environment. Must possess excellent writing and oral communication skills with the ability to tailor legal language to diverse audiences.
