Legal Counsel
Responsibilities: Negotiate and draft software and services related agreements with clients and prospects; subcontracts and other related documents with services partners and introducers; review and advise on bids in competitive tenders; all throughout the MEA region. Advise on contract interpretation and legal aspects of business strategy. Review and advise on property transactions and employment related matters and agreements. Manage contentious files and settlements. Liaise with and supervise external counsel for outsourced matters. Due diligence for acquisitions; management and supervision of corporate transactions and providing related advice when applicable. Follow-up on business and legal activities on a day-to-day basis. Perform such other duties, functions and services (consistent with job title, knowledge and experience) as may from time to time be determined by senior members of the legal department or by Senior Management.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Law Degree from an accredited law school and admitted to practice law in at least one state. 4+ years of sophisticated transactional experience as an attorney gained at a technology company (e.g., cloud services provider, SaaS provider, software company) or at a law firm. Exposure to and familiarity with the legal framework governing data security in the United States, including Gramm Leach Bliley and state data breach notification laws. Familiarity with the General Data Protection Regulation would be a substantial plus. Experience working on revenue-generating cloud services, software, and/or other technology contracts and overseeing deals from inception to close while managing risk and aiding the sales team in moving deals. Strong contract drafting experience with an emphasis on active voice contract drafting. Insatiable curiosity for learning the details of the business and the product offerings. Commitment to finding pragmatic solutions in closing deals while respecting red lines set by the organization. Ability to work autonomously on multiple deals with a sense of urgency. Strong, but tactful communicator who knows how to articulate boundaries with customers while simultaneously finding solutions. Strong devotion to client service with a proactive style. Outstanding cross-functional collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills Adept at quickly building rapport and becoming a trusted adviser with numerous internal stakeholders. Experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-national environment for a multi-national company or multi-national clients would be a plus. Excellent command of MS Office suite.
