Legal Assistant RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist attorney with management of cases and foreclosure timelines. Prepares and files legal documents with the appropriate court. Arrange for payment of court cost and fees and sets up billing in accordance with the client billing schedules. Conducts research including case history, asset location, skip tracing and title review. Review electronic files, mail and standard legal documents to gather information and locate missing or incomplete records. Contacts clients, consumers, attorneys, and courts for further instructions, status updates and any additional information and documentation. Maintain and update client specific e-commerce websites in accordance with their guidelines. Obtain local counsel coverage for court hearings and sale dates. Forward accounts to network local counsel; serves as liaison between client, local counsel and firm attorney Assists with special projects. Complete all required training applicable to assigned position.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: High school diploma /GED. Paralegal/Legal Assistant certificate or education preferred. 2 years of legal assisting experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Real Estate Default/Foreclosure experience preferred. Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask and toggle several different programs at once. A positive attitude centered on teamwork. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Case Management software. Ability to type a minimum of 45 wpm with accuracy.
