Intern will likely answer, working under the guidance of an AUSA, a federal habeas corpus petition that will be filed with the court. Intern will also be given assignments in as many different divisions and units as possible, providing exposure to a wide variety of practice areas and a number of AUSAs. We also host brown bag lunches at which AUSAs, the defense bar, the judiciary and federal agents speak. We sponsor weekly skill sessions focusing on trial practice (opening statements, cross-examination, etc) which culminate in a mock trial.
