Profile

Entry-Level Attorney The candidate will join the Economic Development Division. It acts as the City's business and transactional counsel for a wide range of challenging and complex projects that are intended to enhance the City's economic base either by generating direct revenue for the City treasury or by strengthening the City's tax base and general economic health. The Division's work is diverse and can run the gamut from the sale of an individual parcel of City-owned land to the redevelopment of entire neighborhoods such as Manhattan's Far West Side and the proposals for Sunnyside Yards in Queens. The Division works closely with the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Housing and Economic Development, the New York City Economic Development Corporation, and many other City and State agencies. Recent law graduates who have judicial clerkships may apply as well for the entry class following the term of their clerkship. This application should be used only by law students graduating between December 2017 and June 2018 and recent law graduates completing judicial clerkships in 2018.
