Risk Advisor, Risk Senior Manager The candidate will lead teams to assist real estate clients with testing internal controls, developing internal audit plans, and providing audit services on a co-sourcing or outsourcing basis. Assess the current state of an organization's internal control/Sarbanes-Oxley Act framework and help clients in the real estate sector drive value and efficiency in their internal controls utilizing the latest technology and leading practices. Help our clients in the real estate sector develop an integrated and sustainable approach to risk and control that encompasses a holistic view of people, process and technology. Advise clients on current business and real estate industry trends relevant to the client's business. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex real estate concepts, on-going project and process monitoring, contract compliance evaluations and project risk assessments. Ensure that teams detect unmitigated risks, and identify deficient controls, duplicated effort, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies. Lead and direct teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds by providing constructive on-the-job feedback/coaching to team members. Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Manage risk in the delivery of quality client services. Generate and manage new business opportunities. Must have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Law or a related field and 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience. Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Law or a related field and 7 years of related work experience. Must have 7 years of experience in performing and interpreting gap analysis. Must have 7 years of experience in control rationalization, optimization, effectiveness and efficiency. Must have 6 years of public accounting and/or audit experience for mid to large-sized multinational clients. Must have 3 years of experience with real estate industry specific financial systems, such as JD Edwards, Yardi and/or MRI. Must have 3 years of experience in project management and engagement closure. Must have 3 years of experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Must be eligible to obtain CPA or foreign equivalent, CA, CIA, CISA, or CMA certification within one year of hire or promotion.
